Graham Saba, author of The Dyslexic - An Extraordinary Learner

I was born in 1956, grew up in Sydney, Australia. From mid 1981 I travelled around Europe for eight months and again in 1984 for one and a half years. I currently live in Helsinki, Finland after first arriving in 1988.

Schooling

• 1963 to 1964 Coogee Public School.

• Bachelor of Applied Sciences (Physics and Materials)
  1976 to 1980, a four year sandwich program (three years theory and one year practical experience) at the NSW Institute of Technology, now named University of Technology, Sydney.
• Diploma in Education (DipEd)
  1983, a one year teacher training program at theUniversity of Queensland.
• RSA Certificate (TEFL)
  February 1988, a four week intensive course in the Teaching of English as a Foreign Language to Adults at International House, London.
• Senior Level 2 Certificate, Rugby Coaching
  1982, an intensive long weekend course.

Work Experience

• Upper Secondary Mathematics teacher and Lower Secondary Science teacher
  January 1983 to April 1984 at Charleville State High School, Queensland, Australia.
• Teacher of English as a Foreign Language to adults
  August 1988 to June 1989 at Linguarama, Tampere, Finland.
  August 1990 to January 1993 Freelance teacher, Helsinki, Finland.
• Upper Secondary High School Mathematics teacher
  August 1992 to the present at Käplylän iltaoppikoulu, now named Eiran aikuislukio –Eira High School for Adults, Helsinki, Finland.

Other Responsibilities

• Head Coach of Warriors Rugby Team for seasons 2003 and 2005.
